I hope I’m not coming across as confrontational! I’m genuinely curious, because this is actually something I’ve been thinking about. in this case, his knowing that Frisk was in the “Welcome to Hotland” room could well have been because they told him. It’s likely that Frisk informs her (and Papyrus! his knowledge of rooms is not the same thing as actually saying he can “see” things in the rooms. The phonecalls: she does seem well aware of what room you are in, but never says anything about being able to “see” anything there.
TUMBLR PAPYRUS PLUS
Plus the greenlight trailer, and the kickstarter video. That’s one of my favourites! I think it’s actually when you get to that point that the Snowdin residents’ dialogue changes - with that, and his “press up” “press up longer” “press c” comments… he’s pretty much walking all over the fourth wall. I took this as part of a collection of all the sight-related things Papyrus says, and yes! It’s super strange that Papyrus would say he has a “photographic” memory, which is related to vision, when phonecalls are sound, not sight… unless he can see where you are when you’re calling him! :D I just so happen to have a screenshot of this, so here: I think people are so focused on finding out information about Sans through the phone calls (and Papyrus talks a lot about his brother! he cares just as darn much as Sans does and I won’t listen to anyone saying otherwise) that they call Papyrus for that reason only, and miss the things that Papyrus is revealing about himself. It’s not too often that someone actually goes and calls Papyrus on his own in Hotland, where he shows that he’s aware of and likes a lot more pasta than just spaghetti. The same goes for the subject of pasta, actually. The thing is, very few people seem to be aware about Papyrus seeing things! This might be because it’s something you notice only if you call Papyrus in certain rooms and pay enough attention to the weird things he’s saying. I’m outta evidence so I’m stopping here.Audaciousanonj asked: Really, with the fact that Papyrus can SEE which room you're in in many of the phone calls (I think you made a post about it?), you'd think that PAPYRUS would be the 'omniscient' of the fandom (or at least 'omnipresent') If you actually read this far, for whatever reason, thanks. It’s similar to the Darkners, who have no purpose besides helping Lighteners:Īnd similarly to how Frisk helped Papyrus find a new purpose (in the surface), the knight gave Darkners (the King) purpose again:Īnd probably the most obvious, both Papyrus and the Knight are mentioned but not shown in the deltarune demo.ĭeltarune is set in an alternate universe from Undertale. The hidden references about Papyrus could/might hint what Papyrus in Deltarune is like. In neutral runs where the royal guard gets disbanded, Papyrus has expressed himself to have no purpose anymore: Out of all the future occupations Papyrus has dreamt about, he’s very insistent he wants to join the royal guard:

In Undertale, Papyrus wanted to join the Royal Guards. And Seam uses the color red when referring to the strange knight. It’s mostly a white and red color scheme. Papyrus’s overworld sprite has red gloves, red boots, and a red scarf. We have no idea if this is a joke or not. Is it really a coincidence both of these people appeared around the same time.Īnd Jevil’s talk about the strange knight (pacifist) Sans and his little brother recently moved into town. The knight appeared recently in the Dark World. Nobody knows where Sans and Papyrus are from in Undertale. This post ended up being very long, so I split it into 3 sections: This post is primarily references, speculations, coincidences(?), similarities, parallels, and etc I found that could relate to Papyrus. I thought it would be fun to find as many Undertale references as I could in Deltarune and there’s a lot of Papyrus ones! Mostly him and the Dark World
